This year we will be doing something different during Music Hour. Instead of Reading Band, we will be launching our Western District Ensemble Clinic. WDEC provides high school students the opportunity to play alongside college students. Our conductors, Phil Hartman and Marcellus Brown, have picked pieces that will play on the skills and talents of both high school and college students.

 

The District Council is excited to launch a project that combines music and service in the best of ways. For this reason, I ask that you tell your chapter members to bring a COLLEGE SHIRT to rep at WDEC as we will have time to meet-and-greet with the high school students so that they have the chance to ask us questions about college. Note that a COLLEGE SHIRT does not mean a chapter or TBS/KKPsi shirt! During WDEC we are trying to promote colleges over KKPsi or TBS.

 

Furthermore, I ask that you please bring recruitment flyers to hand out from your university's school of music. These flyers can then be passed out to the high school students that attend.
